Bonjour!
Welcome to the first post of the newly redesigned Chez Suzette website and Blog! Thanks for joining me here and continuing on the journey. Lots of good things happening and so much to share with you.
So settle in and make yourself at home at Chez Suzette. Tell me what you want to see more of and what interests you. Let’s figure out together how to add more bonheur (happiness) to our lives and to our world. I would love to hear from you and what that means to you. A big Thank You to those who have been following the baby blog Provence du Jour, and especially for your comments. Soon I’ll be returning to France for two weeks in October. I’m excited to spend time in Aix-en-Provence and explore many smaller villages throughout Provence including Saint Zacherie, Cassis, Lagnes, Saint-Remy-de-Provence, Lourmarin and more. I’ll be on the hunt for treasures for my new online shop that will be up and running soon. Now that it’s officially Fall, everyone will be preparing for the upcoming holidays so watch for posts on decorating and easy recipes for entertaining. Spring and the beginnings of the lavender buds were wonderful but I can’t wait to be in Provence for Fall!

I will be scouting the daily markets for unique and beautiful treasures, along with flavorful items from the food markets. Watch for postings about a specially curated assortment of Provençal products that will make wonderful holiday gifts and also perfect for a birthday, housewarming, Mother’s Day — or any occasion!
This trip is all about exploring, about driving through the Provençal countryside for two weeks (fingers crossed that the new GPS unit with Europe maps works without a hitch!) in search of adventures, to meet new people, and discover more of a life in Provence that has pulled me in and doesn’t want to let go. We’ll revisit some of the brocantes I’ve been to before and go in search of new ones. In France, there’s a market somewhere every day. I love that way of life, particularly for buying fresh food and eating what’s in season. For those who live in the village, it’s a communal way to catch up on what’s been happening with your friends. SO much better than texting!
Time well spent. Time with friends. Time alone.
What do you want to discover on your next adventure?
A bientôt!
Suzette
I love the set up of your new blog. It is exciting and I cannot wait to see through your eyes Provence in the Fall. I am kind of partial to the beautiful lavender in spring so it will be wonderful to get a view of the fall season.
Thanks Lou Lou! Happy to hear that you love the new blog site. In Provence and it’s been unusually warm during the day, but nice and cool at night. New posts coming soon!
Hi Suzette. How exciting!!! I am so happy to find your website and to see that you are enjoying life to the fullest. I have always loved the provincial life of the south of France and of Tuscany in northern Italy. My son is a freshman at The College of Charleston and is taking French (after 3 years in high school) and has a course titled “The Culture and History of Paris”. Wishing you all the best and great adventures. The last I heard you were selling your home in north Atlanta and moving into a Brookhaven townhome. Still there? Enjoy Provence!
Hi David! So good to hear from you and thanks for your comment on my new blog. Yes, I sold the house in the ‘burbs and moved to Brookhaven 5 years ago. Love it. Maybe my next place will be a part time life in Provence!
